Text

Segalen, Victor. Annales secrètes d'après Maurice Roy.
Yvonne Y. Hsieh : Segalen kept this journal in which he noted the incredible revelations of his young friend, who claimed to be an intimate friend of the Regent and the lover of the Empress Dowager. Both in the Annales and in René Leys, Segalen increasingly doubted the stories of the handsome young polyglot, but could never prove in a definitive manner their authenticiy or falseness.
