Ye Gongchao studiert an der High School in Urbana, Ill., am Bates College in Maine und Lyrik am Amherst College, Mass. und erhält den B.A. 1925.
In Amherst Ye was instructed by Robert Frost, who taught students how to write poetry and nivels. This instruction resulted in Ye publishing his own English poetry collection, entitled Poems, under the name George Yeh.
