Liu Yang : C'est la première fois qu'Henri Michaux écrit en marge de l'oeuvre d'un autre peintre. Le livre luxueux qu’ils conçoivent ensemble, scelle une amitié qui ne se démentira plus. Pour Michaux, Zao Wou-ki sera un 'introducteur en choses chinoises', et Michaux restera aux yeux de celui-ci le 'médiateur le plus aigu entre l'Orient et l'Occident'. Henri Michaux a parlé de Zao Wou-ki : "On m'apporta ses lithographies. Je ne le connaissais ni lui, ni ses peintures. J'écrivis le lendemain les pages qui suivent, à quelques lignes près. Il méritait un plus 'serieux' lecteur. » Michaux a indiqué le caractéristique des Chinois qui aiment beaucoup la lune. « La lune a pris toute vie toute grandeur tout effluve d'avance leur coeur se retire dans l'astre qui reflète." |
