1 1881-1885 Bau der Canadian Pacific Railway in British Columbia mit 15'000 chinesischen Mitarbeitern. Nach der Fertigstellung werden die Chinesen entlassen, können aber mit ihren Familien trotz Diskriminierung kanadische Bürger werden.
2 1885-1923 Die kanadische Regierung verlangt eine Kopfsteuer für jeden chinesischen Immigranten. Erlaubnis zur Immigration erhielten Diplomaten, Geistliche, Händler, Studenten, Touristen und Wissenschaftler.
3 1896 Li Hongzhang ist kaiserlicher Gesandter und reist nach Russland, Deutschland, Niederlande, Belgien, Frankreich, England, Amerika, Toronto und Vancouver, Kanada.
Esper Esperovich Ukhtomsky begleitet Li Hongzhang zu Verhandlungen in St. Petersburg.
4 1912 Die Guomindang wird aktiv in Kanada und gründet Zweigstellen.
5 1941-1942 Die chinesische und kanadische Regierung gründen diplomatische Beziehungen.
6 1942 Liu Shishun wird Botschafter der chinesischen Botschaft in Ottawa.
7 1942-1946 Victor Odlum ist Botschafter der kanadischen Gesandtschaft in Chongqing.
8 1943 Song Ziwen besucht Kanada und trifft Mackenzie King.
