Chan Mimi : It is easier to reproduce in Chinese verse Geoffrey Chaucer's shorter poems. This is attempted in Fang Zhong's translation of eight of Chaucer's short poems. The translator attempts to reproduce the stanzaic arrangements of the original. In his epilogue he writes that he has "with great effort tried to translate the original rhymes".
