William Cookworthy gelingt es als Erster in England Porzellan nach chinesischem Muster herzustellen. Er gilt als Pionier der Kaolin-Industrie und erhält ein Patent für seine Erfindung eines Porzellans, bestehend aus Moorstone und Growan. Er gründet eine Porzellanfabrik in Plymouth, die Plymouth China Works. |
