Yves Hervouet ist membre scientifique der Ecole française d'Extrême-Orient in Hanoï und beschäftigt sich mit der Bibliothek, welche er ab 1952 leitet. Er reist zu Studienzwecken nach Hong Kong, Tokyo und Kyoto.
