Gründung und Bestehen der Nanjing-Universität (Jinling da xue) durch die American Presbyterian Mission North, die Disciples of Christ und die Methodist Episcopal Church. Zusammenschluss mit dem Union Christian College. Die Universität kommt 1938 nach Chengdu und ist dann von 1946-1951 bis zur kommunistischen Übernahme wieder in Nanjing.
