1 1967-2010 Wang Lan-ming : In Chinese academic circles, Thomas Wolfe's position has been awkward. He is well known for his unique complicated novels and well loved by Chinese readers ; researches in China have paid little attention to him, and no systematic works about Wolfe have com out. Reviewing and summarizing the research output on Wolfe, including translations, introductions, and publications, makes clear that research on Wolfe in China is at an initial stage. We have translated and published Wolfe's major works, but we haven't conducted thorough study and analysis of his thoughts and works from the perspectives of culture, religion, language, and writing skills.
